When doctors and drug manufacturers define dosages, they are looking for the minimal effective dose. This is the volume or quantity of a drug that a patient needs to achieve the desired result. Prescribe too much, and the patient may overdose; not enough, on the other hand, and there is little if any effect. This process can be referred to as individualization, or what is required to create a patient-centric treatment plan.
Coaching is another environment that requires individualization. This is possible when coaches understand the following about athletes (talent):
The natural level of spatial awareness
The effect of natural hand, eye and foot alignment
Linear or lateral movement bias
The natural response to change or challenge
Stress triggers that have an effect on the development of big match temperament
Motivational drivers and the level of competitiveness in an individual athlete.
Note to all coaches in sport:
"All top athletes are motivated beyond the norm. Not all motivation of top athletes is either healthy or sustainable. Change it and you will compromise their "X-factor." Be unaware of it, and this will compromise the sustainability of the process and their performance." My Code
